Lisa M. Brown, PhD Dr. Lisa Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aging and Mental Health, Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, University of South Florida. She is a graduate of the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto, California. Dr. Brown completed her clinical psychology internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital, Tampa, Florida, where she specialized in neuropsychology and geropsychology. Dr. Brown is interested in how older adults cope with adverse personal or societal life events, such as onset of dementia or natural disaster. Her research examines cognitive, emotional, social, and physical responses to stressful life events, and seeks to identify factors that facilitate successful adjustment. At present, she is exploring the effects of the 2004 hurricanes on older adults who are participants in the Charlotte County Healthy Aging Study. |
